Extra information:

I freelance for BBC Radio in Salford making documentaries for Radio 4, Radio 2 and the World Service. Recent shows include 'The Dark Side of Buddhism' from Sri Lanka, 'Music as Medicine' with Ricky Ross and 'Growing Up in Multi-Faith Britain.' Overseas projects are very welcome. Other current projects include developing an international academic podcast project on Cold War sport, running a media training for impact course with Pembroke College, Cambridge, and acting as a consultant editor on a book about migration with the University of Latvia's sociology department. I made a wide range of music series and documentaries for Radio 2 for 15 years, working across soul, pop, Cuban, New Wave and American music, as well as programmes about African independence, American civil rights, Irish migration and the music of the West Coast, Mississippi and Chicago. Prior to that I produced news and current affairs for the BBC World Service 'Newshour' and 'Newsdesk' programmes at Bush House and World Service TV at TV Centre. I was a reporter on the launch of Five Live after four years as a BBC reporter in Manchester throughout the Moss Side gang wars and the IRA bombing of Manchester and Warrington.
