Extra information:

After a career in shipping and the oil industry I became a journalist, writing for Financial Times Magazines in London. I then joined ITN as a news producer, rising to programme editor on ITN World News.

I joined CNN as launch editor for CNN This Morning, based in London before returning to freelance broadcast reporting for BBC Radio 4 programmes including Today and the Food Programme.

I next worked for British Satellite News for a year as a field reporter and then returned to Scotland to work as a freelance journalist mainly in print.

I believe that a well-resourced media is essential for development of a fair and sustainable society. I believe that objectivity is only achievable up to a point, and that a wide range of journalistic styles and interests is the only way to guarantee fairness and balance overall.

I am available as a reporter for news and features in print, online and broadcast. I also offer media and PR consultancy.
